What got me started in helping Santa back in 1974 was. I had just gotten home from Viet Nam the previous year, and we was all down at Grandmother Nielsons farm for Christmas Eve, I recall it was the 5 boys, all the children and 8 grandchildren . Around 7:30 P.M Grandma Nielson came to me and asked me if I would do her a favor. She then took me into her and Grandpa's room and said " I need you to do something for me" And I said sure. Like anyone could say no to Grandma.So she opens up the closet door and pulls out this old Santa suit. She said " You will look good in it, You have the crystal blue eyes"
The beard blended well with mine. ( I looked and fit the part ) When I walked out of that room , let out a "Ho Ho Ho" the children went crazy !It was so heart warming and almost over whelming to see the joy in the childrens eyes , it was hard to hold back my own tears. And every since that day , I have been one of Santa's helpers, I do it year around with pleasure and pride.
I have always had a dream to have a little work shop of my own , I am finally accomplishing that, and will have Santa's Express Train coming soon .
